Consumer Rights for Goods
Faulty, Unfit, or Not as Described Goods
Consumer Use
Up to 14 days from the date of delivery
If the goods are unsatisfactory, faulty, unfit for purpose, or not as described:
- You have the right to reject the goods.
- We will cover the collection costs under these circumstances.
Beyond 14 days from the date of delivery
You do not have the right to reject the goods, but you can still return them within the first 14 days. However, the return costs will be your responsibility. Please note that a restocking charge of up to 25% of the item’s value may apply for any decrease in value due to unnecessary handling. Unnecessary handling includes more than unpacking and repacking the goods.
Up to 30 days from the date of delivery or installation
You do not have the right to reject the goods during this period.
Up to 6 months from the date of delivery or installation
After 30 days, you have the right to have the goods repaired or replaced. If we are unable to do either, a full refund will be issued, and we will cover the collection costs.
Over 6 months from the date of delivery or installation
Some of our suppliers offer longer warranties for specific parts or goods. Parts may be replaced free of charge, but an engineer’s visit may incur charges.
Non-Consumer Use
If goods are used for non-consumer purposes:
- Sale of Goods Act provisions apply instead of consumer contracts rules.
- Keep in mind that heavy usage in goods made for consumer use in a private home may cause damage or wear not covered by statutory or contractual warranty.
Important Notes
- This information does not intend to limit your statutory rights.
- If we agree to refund or repair goods beyond statutory rights, reasonable costs may apply. Typically, this would be in the form of a restocking charge, usually not exceeding 25% of the goods’ value. This charge may apply in special order situations or under other circumstances.
Legal Framework
- The rights outlined are primarily from the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation, and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
- For more information, refer to Consumer Rights Act and Consumer Contracts Regulations.
